Additionally, the guides provide location-specific insights to enhance the overall experience for photographers.

Each guidebook is available in two formats: Digital Magazine (Flipbook) and PDF.

The Flipbook is ideal for viewing on a computer, laptop, or tablet. The PDF version can be downloaded for printing or saved on your smartphone, making it easy to carry with you while you're in the field.

    We have two separate websites, Photographers Trail Notes (PTN), and Photographers Trail Guides (PTG), each catering to different audiences and purposes.

    Photographers Trail Notes (PTN) is a resource for landscape photographers that provides detailed location summaries (with GPS coordinates, directions, trail difficulty, photography tips, lenses to use, best times to shoot, KMZ files, equipment needed, current weather, required permits, the direction of the shot, and cell service availability) for more than 185+ locations throughout the country. The site is used by photographers looking for great landscape opportunities to photograph.

    Photographers Trail Guides (PTG) is designed for photographers planning a trip to a specific location, such as a visit to Colorado for the Fall Color season. For photographers with limited time, these guidebooks provide essential information about the area, directions to get there, the best locations and optimal times for shooting, and location-specific insights to enhance their experience. We currently offer 24 guidebooks, with several new ones set to be released in the coming months.

  • Does my membership to Photographers Trail Notes (PTN) include access to all the guidebooks?

    PTG Guidebooks are separate from the PTN membership, but PTN members always receive a 25% discount on the guidebooks. .

  • Can I download a guidebook to my smartphone?

    All guidebooks can be downloaded to a smartphone, tablet or computer.

  • Can I print my guidebook?

    Once you have downloaded the guidebook, you can print it out.
